Briefing paper ‘The Detention of Vulnerable People: Human Rights Breaches in the UK’

The Vulnerable People Working Group of the Detention Forum published a briefing paper ‘The Detention of Vulnerable People: Human Rights Breaches in the UK’.  VPWG briefing for parl meeting FINAL v2

The paper was prepared for today’s parliamentary meeting on immigration detention organised by the UNHCR and the Detention Forum.  The meeting is hosted by the Parliamentary Human Rights Group and the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Refugees. 

The Vulnerable People Working Group is one of the four Working Groups within the Detention Forum, and is composed of Association of Visitors to Immigration Detainees, Gatwick Detainee Welfare Group, the Poppy Project, UK Lesbian and Gay Immigration Group and Yarl’s Wood Befrienders. 

Other Working Groups are: Indefinite Detention Working Group, Judicial Oversight Working Group and Communications Working Group.
